Nancy Lee Stalls Farmer
Nancy Lee Stalls Farmer, 78, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, at the Passion and Purpose HomeCare Assisted Living for our SENIORS in Murray.
She was born Jan. 19, 1946, in Murray, to Jeff “Rowdy” Stalls and Alma (Kirks) Stalls.
She retired as a purchasing agent for Murray State University and Lone Star College in Houston, Texas. She was a member of Calvary Temple Church in Murray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Chambers and Betty Ross.
Mrs. Farmer is survived by her husband, Jesse Farmer of Murray; three stepdaughters, Angela Vega and husband Chago of California, Emily Welch and husband Jeff of California, and Hope Farmer of Missouri; two stepsons, Phillip Farmer and Seth Farmer, both of Washington State; two sisters, Shirley Hart and Patricia Balentine, both of Murray; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at Calvary Temple Church with Darrell Young and Tom
Clendenon officiating. Burial will follow in Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday,
Aug. 23, 2024, at the church.

Gilbert Sears
Gilbert Sears, 90, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.
He was born April 22, 1934, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, to Chauncey Gilbert and Bertha (Woodall) Sears.
He was a graduate of Murray State University and Southern Illinois University and was a retired economic development specialist from the University of Kentucky Extension Service in Lexington. He honorably served his country in the US Air Force and was a member of First Baptist Church in Murray.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Ricky Hatley; brothers, Wilton Sears, Wayne Sears, Jerry Sears and Donnie Sears; and sisters, Mickey Beechler, Helen Cahill, Peggy Wilson and Doris Burnett.
Mr. Sears is survived by his wife of 65 years, Winta Jane (Puckett) Sears; his children, David (Rhonda) Sears of Lawrenceburg, Stephen (Mary) Sears of Benton, Carol Hatley of Hopkinsville, Laura Anne (Jim) Ownbey of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Alison Carillon of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Chelsea (Adam) Carter, Alison (Luke) Jones, Ryan (Megan) Sears, Whitney Sears, Jessica (Jim) Adkins, Kyle (Lauren) Sears, Erin Ownbey, Kendra Sears, Jordan Carillon, Leeann Sears, Elizabeth Sears, Jennifer (Craig) Kemp, Emily (Kody) Fox, Megan (Josh) Smith, Sara Anne (Dustin) Fairbanks, Christopher Carillon and Adam Carillon; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Murray, with Boyd Smith and Mike Crook officiating.Burial with military honors will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery in Cunningham. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at the church.

Betty Jean Johnson, 91, of Dyer, Tennessee, formerly of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024, at the Dyer Nursing and Rehab in Dyer.
She was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Carlisle County, Kentucky, to Henry Atlee Fortner and Eula Estell Dublin Fortner. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanual Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Johnson; one son, Freddy Johnson; one daughter, Kathy Jean Reyes; and one grandson, Gauge Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by one son, Steve Johnson of Milan, Tennessee; one brother, Thomas Fortner of Trenton, Tennessee; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
The A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Greg Wells and Alex Ayres officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, at the church.

Dorothy Sue Rose
Dorothy Sue Rose, 90, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at her home in the Hickory Woods Senior Living Community in Murray.
Sue, along with her husband, James Rose, owned and operated Rose’s Wheel Alignment for 33 years. She was of the Baptist faith and, along with her husband, shared a love for Sunday school and taught many children’s classes.
She was born June 15, 1934, in Calloway County, Kentucky, to Lowell Walker and Zula May Walker.
She was blessed with 64 years of happy marriage.They were married Oct. 7, 1950, in Corinth, Mississippi.
Survivors and descendants include one daughter, Jan Rose Wheeler and husband Lyndon of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Alisha Rose Niswonger and husband Chris of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Krisha Lynn Hutfilz and husband Florian of Bern, Switzerland; two beautiful great-granddaughters, Amelia Rose and Aurora Lilly Hutfilz; one devoted sister-in-law, Janice Rose and late brother-in-law, Jack Rose of Murray; two nephews, Andy Rose and wife Dawn of Atlanta, Georgia, and their sons, David and Danny Rose, and Jon Rose and wife Natalya of Nashville, Tennessee, and their children, George and Kseniya Rose; her brothers are the late Gerald Walker and wife Rose of Dexter, the late Joe Walker and wife Janette of Almo; a brother, Ronnie Walker and late wife Wanda of Murray; a brother, Billy Walker and wife Debbie of Murray; one late sister, Judy Mathis and late husband Tommy of Aurora; and many special nieces and nephews that loved their “Aunt Sue” dearly.
