SANTA ANA — A 37-year-old Anaheim man was sentenced Monday to 30 years to life in prison for fatally beating and strangling his girlfriend following a roughly yearlong tumultuous relationship.

ANAHEIM — Angels pitcher Patrick Sandoval received multiple opinions on his injured elbow, but the news was still bad.

Firefighters Monday stopped at 11.54 acres the growth of a brush fire in Corona that had threatened buildings northeast of the juncture of the 91 and 15 freeways.
