And this is a recent discovery. "MONOPOLOWA",...genuine potato vodka from Austria,...good stuff!,...and the liquor barn is selling it for $11 per 750ml bottle.

http://www.agjab.com/monopolowa_2009/frame.htm

VODKA MONOPOLOWA is an excellent, smooth and dry vodka, particularly popular in Poland and in the United States, produced in Austria in accordance with an old family recipe from the highest quality triple distilled rectified spirits obtained from special varieties of potatoes.

VODKA MONOPOLOWA has won numerous awards for its taste and quality and been consistently rated Exceptional, Best Spirit, Best Buy and Best Value. In the last decade, in head-to-head competitions against some of the worlds most recognized vodkas, VODKA MONOPOLOWA has repeatedly won Gold Medals and has been recognized as a World Champion Vodka.

A prominent U.S. trade journal reported that VODKA MONOPOLOWA is easily identifiable in blind tastings ... Produced from 100 percent potato spirit, it is one of the most flavourful and interesting vodkas.

VODKA MONOPOLOWAS rich texture and smoothness are further enhanced when served chilled with a twist of lemon or ice cold straight from the freezer. Due to its neutral character, VODKA MONOPOLOWA is also well suited for mixed drinks.

If it ain't from Kentucky, it ain't bourbon.

But you can have my part of it *all*.

Aged corn liquor of all varieties is some of the nastiest liquid on earth. It's not quite as bad as gin,...but it's right there beside it.

If ya want some good corn liquor, get some straight out of the tap. Stickin' it in an old burnt up oak barrel and forgetting about it for 8 years just plumb ruins it!

If ice is involved it may as well be in something cheap since it's chilling effect nulls out most of the flavor you pay for in the good stuff. Old Crow on the rocks anyone? Bourbon fans: Elmer T. Lee (37)

Wrong. Bourbon does not have to come from Kentucky.

Champagne only comes from France and Bourbon only comes from Kentucky.

Otherwise, it's sparkling wine or whiskey.

I sent a couple hundred dollars worth of Bookers to Afghanistan with a Captain in the Canadian military who visited us a few years ago.

By all accounts, it went over big with those Canadian guys who had been drinking the blended stuff.
